About

“Bella graduated from The University of Melbourne Medical School in 2008, and undertook her paediatric training through The Royal Children’s Hospital and Sydney Children’s Hospital. She completed her paediatric allergy and immunology training in 2016, prior to undertaking a PhD through The Garvan Institute of Medical Research, one of Australia’s premier research centres. As part of her doctoral studies, she spent time abroad at Jerusalem’s Hadassah University Hospital Department of Bone Marrow Transplantation, recruiting patients for research projects and gaining experience in transplantation, the only curative option for children with primary immune deficiency.

Bella started as a consultant with The Royal Children’s Hospital Department of Allergy and Immunology in 2021, where she treats children with allergic diseases as well as those with primary immune deficiency. In addition to patient care she is committed to teaching and ongoing research, publishing widely with both local and international colleagues. She serves as a reviewer for several leading allergy and immunology journals and has received several competitive grants, including the Australian Government Research Training Program Scholarship and the Garvan-Weizmann Joint Research Program Grant.

Bella is excited to join the team at MACCS, where she hopes to provide tailored care to patients with allergic and immune-mediated diseases, as well as supportive and practical advice to families. Bella looks forward to guiding you through the mass of information available about allergic disease, and creating a personalised approach for your child and family.
