About

Sabeena graduated from the University of Western Australia and commenced paediatric training at Princess Margaret Hospital in Perth. She moved to Melbourne to complete specialist training in Allergy & Immunology at the Royal Children’s Hospital. She is a Clinical Allergist Immunologist and member of the Australian Society of Clinical Immunology and Allergy (ASCIA).

Sabeena’s areas of interest include food allergy/anaphylaxis, urticaria (hives), allergic rhinitis (hay fever), immunotherapy, insect allergy and recurrent infection. She is particularly interested in the persistence of food allergy into adolescence and is passionate about helping young adults learn to manage their allergies independently. Her work in this area informed the early stages of the National Allergy Strategy.

Sabeena also has a keen interest in recurrent infections and immunodeficiency. She was recently awarded a prestigious Junior fellowship by the European Society for Immunodeficiencies (ESID).

Outside of work, Sabeena enjoys exploring Melbourne. She is still trying to decide on a footy team to support, suggestions are welcome!
